Limberg II Pumped Storage Power Plant, Austria

With its core cavern as big as St. Stevens Cathedral in Vienna, the Limberg II project aims at the utilisation of two existing reservoirs, Wasserfallboden and Mooserboden, for pumped storage. Except for access buildings and storage areas for the tunnel excavation material, all plant components are underground and hence unseen to passers-by.

Pöyry's services include the master plan, feasibility study, optimisation study, final design, investigation program, project optimisation, tender documents, detail design, and site supervision.
